[1]Cash awards and accolades continued to pour in for sportspersons, who brought glory to the country at the 2012 London Games as Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday announced `50 lakh each for silver medallists and `25 lakh each for bronze medal winners at the Olympics.
Shooter Vijay Kumar and wrestler Sushil Kumar, who won silver medals, will get cash awards of `50 lakh each.
Boxer Mary Kom, shuttler Saina Nehwal, shooter Gagan Narang and wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt will get `25 lakh each for winning bronze medals in their respective events.
Athlete Krishna Poonia, who belongs to the state, will also get a cash reward of `21 lakh for qualifying for the final round of the women’s discuss throw competition in the Olympics.
