Cocktail inspires youngsters’ attire

Bollywood has a major influence on music, art and fashion in India. No wonder every time a new movie releases in the theatres, young fans look up to the on-screen idols for new trends and styles. And more recently, youngsters are totally bowled over by the trendy clothes inspired by the latest release Cocktail.

From cute jumpsuits to smart jackets and tops, youngsters are shaking up and making their own fashionable cocktail with bright film-inspired outfits that are available at local street markets.
From Sarojini Nagar to Janpath, a lot of college girls can be spotted asking the shopkeepers about the floral jumpsuits that Diana Penty donned in the movie.
Kajal Mehra, a student from Gargi College, says, “When I saw the movie I loved the beautiful outfits that both the actresses sported in the film. I think both of them had a very unique style and character that was clearly depicted through their ensembles. I prefer Deepika’s spunky style and have purchased a few off-shoulder dresses and tops like her from Sarojini Nagar. I also bought a few colourful shorts that are available on sale these days.”
The floral and teacup print jumpsuits inspired from Diana’s wardrobe are also selling like hotcakes in the local markets. Trishala Gulati, a third year student from Miranda House, reveals that she recently picked up five knee-high jumpsuits for her wardrobe.
She says, “One can find a variety of cute jumpsuits at the street markets, and after the release of Cocktail they have become really popular among girls. I bought five cotton jumpsuits in different prints from local markets. I wear them with sleek colourful belts and oversized glares which look really cool.”
A lot of college guys too have taken cue from Saif’s wardrobe in the movie and invested in colourful tees. Bhaskar Pant, a DU student, says, “I loved the colourful tees that Saif wore in the movie. I bought a few bright coloured tees with funny messages written on them.”
