Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi said here on Sunday that the pro-talks faction of Ulfa leaders, including chairman Arbinda Rajkhowa, was prepared to start peace talks with the government.
While refusing to divulge details of messages received from jailed Ulfa leaders, Mr Gogoi told reporters: “I have received an encouraging response from Ulfa leaders. They have informed me that they are prepared for the peace talks. We are now going to discuss it with the home ministry soon.”
