[1]Eighth grader Shravan Kumaran and his brother Sanjay Kumaran in Class 6, on Thursday announced their ‘apps company’ called ‘Go Dimensions’ with four products on the ‘shelf’ and a huge ambition to become the Indian editions of Steve Jobs.
Their four applications for the latest I-phones and I-pads are already popular among the netizens with the first app, ‘Catch Me Cop’ scoring over 10,000 downloads across 20 countries.
“We are thrilled. We are busy making more apps, even for senior citizens and environmentalists”, said Sanjay, aged 10. Shravan, two years older, explained that their interest in programming languages was triggered when their father brought home a computer.
“Our inquisitiveness graduated to learning and thereafter to programming. Dad encouraged us. We spent four years learning all the programmes”, he added. The kids’ company has a grand motto: ‘solutions for the digital world’. And philanthropy as a by-product, as they pledge their profits towards helping the poor.
Though they have not yet started earning money, they hope to generate income as they have left space for commercial advertisements in the apps. And with some foreign firms approaching for tie-ups, they are clearly on cloud nine.
Dad Kumaran has been in the IT field for over 15 years.
