Asin not one to clamour for roles

Rohit Shetty may be thankful to Asin for having helped Bol Bachchan taste success, but that doesn’t mean she is using her good offices to clamour for a role in his upcoming films.

A section of the media had reported that Asin was asking Rohit to consider her for Chennai Express, his ambitious next film starring Shah Rukh Khan. But Asin, while clearing the air, says she has never lobbied for a role. “I don’t know where this rumour started from. When people know that I’m doing well for myself, why do they still feel I need to lobby for film roles,” she demands to know.
But, having said that, she adds that the opportunity to work opposite SRK will be a dream come true. “I’d love to work with Shah Rukh personally. But that will be a call taken by the director. So while I had heard that Rohit was upset with me and a few actresses for having spread rumours about us doing his next film, I have never asked anybody for a favour yet,” says Asin.
Instead, she says, she is happy doing the films she has with her, and isn’t looking for any others. “I’d rather do one film at a time, and work with people who genuinely want to work with me,” she smiles.
