Key 26/11 handler Abu Jundal has told interrogators the Karachi 'control room' was destroyed by sleuths of Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency weeks after the barbaric Mumbai attack.
Jundal’s interrogation by the Delhi police and Intelligence Bureau has clearly shed light on not only on the role of 'state actors' in Pakistan during 26/11 but on the existence of Laskhar-e-Tayyaba training camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The interrogation report says ISI operative Major Sameer Ali was deeply involved in monitoring control room activities when the 10 terrorists stormed Mumbai while another
ISI officer, Colonel Hamza, handled financial and logistics support to Jundal ahead of his arrest in Saudi Arabia.
The ISI wanted to give Jundal safe passage from Rawalpindi to Saudi Arabia, but the plan unravelled as he came directly under the radar of Indian agencies after reaching Saudi Arabia in April 2011.
Jundal has disclosed that ISI operative Sameer Ali was giving 'instructions' to LeT operational commander of Lashkar-e-Tayyaba Zaki- ur- Rehman Lakhvi and they were
closely coordinating all movements of the Mumbai attackers.
Syed Zabiuddin Ansari, alias Abu Jundal, also told interrogators that the 26/11 handlers in the Karachi control room were asked to disperse after the terror operation was over
and Lakhvi was put up in a 'safe house' along with his three wives.
Confirming the existence of LeT training camps in PoK, Jundal said he got training in Baitul Mujahidden, the LeT training camp in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Jundal has also disclosed that after international pressure was mounting on Pakistan, the Pakistan's FIA raided the training camp from where Lakhvi was arrested.
However, Jundal claims that he managed to escape along with another key LeT operative Abu Qahfa. Jundal went to Faislabad only to return to PoK months later.
