Parineeti waits for the Khans

Parineeti Chopra may have been signed up by Yash Raj Films to a bonded contract, but that hasn’t stopped Bollywood’s top filmmakers from wooing the pretty girl. And while she admits to have received several tempting offers, she adds in the same breath that the age gap between her and the industry’s big Khans means that films opposite them aren’t coming about.

“Look, I’m just 23 and the chances of working opposite the Khans are unlikely,” she says. “There is a big age gap, but at some point in my career, I do hope I get films opposite Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan, Emraan Hashmi, Abhay Deol, etc. because we still come in the same age group. But I seriously hope that some intelligent writer will write a role that will justify my pairing with the Khans.”
But for now, she’s content being with YRF, who are overjoyed at having unearthed the “next Kajol”. “Comparisons with Kajol are flattering, and I hope I do justice to the compliment and the expectations,” she smiles, adding that Kajol was among the best actors the industry has ever produced. “She was also lucky to work with the best actors and filmmakers of Bollywood, including Shah Rukh Khan. I keep my fingers crossed, for a film with him would be the cherry on the cake.”
