Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan on Wednesday stuck to his guns and refused to tender a written apology to Mumbai Cricket Associa-tion, but regretted his recent misconduct that led him to being banned for five years from entering the Wankhede Stadium.
“I don’t want to get into this whole thing of whether I am going to apologise to the MCA or not,” the Bollywood actor said. “If I am walking from here and if you say something which I don’t like... I think fortunately or unfortunately, I am in a position where I should just be more thick-skinned and quiet and say, you know what, if I get into this position right now, it will be bad for my family, children, my audience,” he said.
On the MCA ban, SRK said, “Whether it is continued or not, every association has their rules and they should follow it,” adding, “I apologise to the TV audience with folded hands that it was because of me they had to endure the inane and stupid comments of the so-called analysts for hours. I am really sorry for that.”
Revelling in the success of his team’s win, he said that the last five years made him realise that he could also fail. “I have been working for almost 20 years and have achieved success. It was high time I faced failure. In the last five years I have changed and realised that I can also fail. Success is not a good teacher, failure makes you humble,” he said.
