I’ve been fair to all, says Sadananda Gowda

The war of words between Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda and the B.S. Yeddyurappa camp continues unabated.

On Sunday, the CM asserted that he had not ill-treated any MLA or minister and had taken them into confidence while taking major decisions. He was speaking to reporters here during the Janata Darshan.

Mr Gowda was referring to excise minister M.P. Renukacharya’s statements made on Saturday, when the minister had alleged that the CM had adopted a vengeful attitude towards Lingayat MLAs and had meted out step-motherly treatment to BSY loyalists.

Mr Gowda refused to elaborate on the issue saying, “I cannot react to everyone’s statements. They are my Cabinet colleagues and I will not criticise them. As for me, I believe we are all one. There are no differences of opinion in our party.”

Mr Renukacharya had also alleged that Mr Gowda had deliberately delayed sending a reply to the Central Empowered Committee (CEC) of the Supreme Court on the illegal mining cases against former chief ministers S.M. Krishna, N. Dharam Singh and H.D. Kumaraswamy, while he was quick to reply in Yeddyurappa’s case.

The friction between Yeddyurappa confidante Renukacharya and the Chief Minister was evident when they refused to acknowledge each other’s presence though they shared the dais at the Kunchitigara convention.
