Sonakshi Sinha is unmoved by the criticism that she plays only desi girls in films. The actress is in fact proud that she has created a niche for herself playing the quintessential desi chhammak chhallo on the big screen. Unlike most Bollywood hotties, who have been playing Western roles, Sonakshi has limited her self to typical Indian roles. While in Rowdy Rathore she plays a Patna girl, the actress will be seen recreating the magic as a UP girl in Dabangg 2, a sardarni in Son of Sardar and a Bengali in Lootera.
Sonakshi in fact finds this entire desi v/s cool comparison quite funny. “Some out there want me to feel that I am doing something wrong. But aisa nahi hai. My parents are very happy with my choices. As a matter of fact, before working on any film, I consult with them. They are content that I am in an Indian space and playing such characters. That’s all that matters,” she said.
