In a bid to nab eve-teasers who continue to be a menace in Kochi city, the special branch police decided to intensify its shadow policing in crowded places here.
The women’s wing of the special branch held 60 eve-teasers in April from different parts of the city.
They were held from shopping complexes, KSRTC bus stand, private bus stand in Kaloor, railway stations, Marine drive, Subhash Park and theatre premises. Women cops in mufti are now on their toes to catch more miscreants.
The aim, said police officials, is to stamp out eve-teasing and hooliganism. "Our priority is to ensure that Kochiites have a peaceful life," said Tomy Sebastian, assistant commissioner of the special branch police.
