A murder convict gave a police party the slip by jumping from a train while being escorted to the district jail here, officials said on Wednesday.
Anurag Mishra alias Raju purportedly pushed the police personnel escorting him and jumped from Mahakaushal express train at Ohan railway station on Tuesday night, they said.
The convict was being brought back to the district jail after hearing in a case in Satna in Madhya Pradesh.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment by the court in connection with the murder of five persons in Kalinjar fort in 2003.
