Chandrababu Naidu may write on Telangana to save party

Fresh from the drubbing received in the bypolls, the Telugu Desam on Friday indicated that it is trying to save its base in Telangana by giving ‘mo-re clarity’ on the party’s stand on Telangana.

Sources said that TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu is likely to write a letter to Centre soon to take a decision on Telangana and party has no objection on statehood being given to Telangana if the interests of other regions are protected.

Mr Naidu held informal discussions with TD leaders from Telangana to try and take the party to safety from the Telangana fire. The leaders told him that the TD’s indecisiveness led to the drubbing in the recent bypolls.
