Following the third consecutive day of the Assembly being adjourned without any business being transacted, the Telugu Desam on Wednesday put forth four conditions to end the impasse. TD Deputy Floor leader P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju demanded that the six tainted ministers to be issued Supreme Court notices along with 8 IAS officers for issuing 26 GOs allegedly favouring YSR Congress leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy should resign immediately or be sacked from the Cabinet.
The TD also demanded that the government place files pertaining to 26 GOs before the Speaker for perusal by leaders of all political parties, cancel the GOs and launch legal action against the erring ministers and the officials, besides confiscating the illegal properties. “For the third day, the issue has come up in the Assembly. It is very clear that as per Parliamentary practices, the government of the day is accountable to the House for all the decisions of any consequence taken by ministers and members of cabinet,” Mr Raju said.
The TD leader added that the party feels that the 26 GOs were issued with malafide intention for personal gain. “Ministers, their relatives and others are responsible for misuse of government and public funds,” Mr Raju stated. “If there is anything wrong, the GOs should be cancelled and steps initiated to recover the public money. The CM has to prove that he is running a clean government,” he said.
Mr Raju said if the government refuses to place the files before the Speaker, his party would seek details about the files through RTI. He alleged that the government, instead of replying to the demands, was running away from the Assembly.
