Superstar Rajinikanth hasn’t had the best of times of late. His health hasn’t been his best friend, and last year, he even underwent a surgical procedure in Singapore. Things have normalised since, but he still isn’t up to full fitness, as a result of which, the shooting schedules for his films have taken a break. The veteran actor made good use of the free time to hobnob with the social circuit though. “Since he wasn’t shooting, he made sure he attended a few parties, weddings and concerts where he caught up with a lot of his old friends from Bengaluru and Chennai,” says an associate.
What’s more, he even celebrated his 31st wedding anniversary this week, but due to his fluctuating health, they had to keep a low profile. “A big celebration was planned by his daughters Aishwarya and Soundarya, but he insisted on keeping it simple,” says our source. “So it was a simple dinner with close family and friends. It’s very rare that the otherwise busy family gets together and spends time, but this was too important an occasion.”
