Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday ordered an inquiry in the alleged sexual assault and harassment of children at a privately-run orphanage in central Delhi.
"We have ordered an inquiry in the abuse of children at a orphanage run here. The committee will look deep in the case and the issues being faced by inmates to prevent their recurrence," Dikshit told reporters on sidelines of a function here.
Dikshit also said that the government will look at the deeper issues and come out with measures to ensure that children living at orphanages do not face any problem in future.
"We have already appointed an administrator who is looking into the issues. We will see what should be done to prevent such incidents. The members of the probe panel will be announced on Tuesday," she added.
Police have arrested four people for alleged sexual abuse of children at Arya orphanage, which was privately-run.
