The first cricket One-day International between India and Australia has been reduced to 32-over-a-side affair after rain interrupted play at the MCG here on Sunday.
Put into bat by India, Australia were 35 for 2 after 11 overs when heavens opened up in the first match of the tri-series, which also features Sri Lanka.
Australia's Matthew Wade (21) and skipper Michael Clarke (5) were at the crease when the disruption occurred.
R. Vinay Kumar, the little-praised medium-pacer from Bangalore, was at the centre of India's charge with the wickets of David Warner (6) and Ricky Ponting (2).
