[1]After braving a series of foggy and chilly days, Delhi got its share of bright and sunny weather on Monday morning with the met department forecasting a clear day ahead.
"Mainly clear skies are expected through the day. The maximum and minimum temperature are expected to stay around 19 and 6 degrees Celsius," said an official from the India Meteorological Department.
"The chilly winds are likely to continue in the coming week, but the skies will remain clear," the official added.
The minimum temperature settled at 5.6 degrees Celsius, two notches below the average for the season. Maximum and minimum humidity stood at 94 and 47 per cent respectively.
The maximum temperature recorded on Sunday had been 18 degrees Celsius, three notches below the average for the season.
While there were no flight cancellations according to airport officials, train services continued to be hit due to cold weather in parts of Uttar Pradesh.
"Over 50 train cancellations have taken place so far. This includes train routes to Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, and other train routes in northern part," an official from northern railways told IANS.
Around 10 trains were running late by two hours, including the Farrakh Express, Kafiyat express to Azamgarh, Shiv Ganga Express to Varanasi and Vikramshila Express to Bhagalpur among others.
