Looking for a career switch? How about politics? In UP, more and more people are switching careers and opting for politics. The official reason is the urge to serve society but the actual reason being to attain instant glory that brings money, security and immunity. Retired PCS officer, Baba Hardev Singh joined RLD after his retirement two years ago and is now contesting the Etmadpur seat from Agra. “He joined politics, was appointed state president of RLD and is now contesting elections. We have been in the party for 20 years and have not been given a chance. It is, therefore, better to enter politics through a career switch than start from the scratch,” says a disgruntled RLD leader.
