Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare, who has been admitted to the Sancheti Hospital in Pune, has been advised against fasting for the next one month.
Dr K.H. Sancheti, founder member of Sancheti Hospital in Pune said, “I personally went to Ralegan Siddhi and requested him to come to Pune so that we could provide better medical care.”
He is suffering from septicaemia and his windpipe was also swollen when he was brought to the hospital, sources said. However, Dr K.H. Sancheti said, “Mr Hazare’s health is much better now. His temperature and blood pressure is normal. We did the nebulisation procedure to clear his congestion and also put him on cough medication. Though a little weak, he is absolutely stable now.”
Speaking about the activists diet, Dr Prashant Sancheti said, “He is eating his usual meals, which primarily consists of fruits and milk.”
Dr Mahendra M. Kawedia, consultant chest physician, said, “Mr Hazare should not have gone on a fast when he knew that he wasn’t holding up too well.” Mr Hazare will remain in the hospital for a week.
Addressing the media in the hospital, Mr Hazare assured of his stable health. He said, “I’m in good hands and feel much better too… I will recover soon.”

Prayer meet for anna at rajghat

Supporters of ailing Anna Hazare on Sunday held a prayer meeting at Rajghat for his health and resolved to make the Jan Lokpal a reality this year.
Mr Hazare, who developed chest infection, was admitted to hospital in Pune on Saturday night.
Wishing for his health, the volunteers and other members of India Against Corruption converged at Rajghat and prayed for him. “A spiritual start of the year at Rajghat by joining IAC volunteers in prayer for Anna’s health and resolve to make the Jan Lokpal Bill happen,” Ms Kiran Bedi said.
