Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi is banking on an army of 12.5 lakh Youth Congress (YC) members to rally behind party candidates in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh (UP).
Each polling booth in UP will be manned by 10 YC members.
A tie-up with Google is enabling three lakh YC office-bearers to share real-time feedback from the ground and with this, Congress hopes to unleash a coordinated election campaign.
In-charge for UP Virendra Rathore said YC had added 3.5 lakh members in western parts of the state, 4 lakh in eastern parts, 3 lakh in central and 2 lakh in
Bundelkhand during a membership drive undertaken in the past two years.
Mr Gandhi led the drive.
All-India president Rajiv Satav, while claiming YC was the largest political organisation in the world to have networked after a tie-up with Google, said members had been trained to share ground reports, which could be seen by Mr Gandhi among other senior leaders.
