Neil Nitin Mukesh may be just nine films old, but his hunger for knowledge and keenness to learn, is like that of a debutant. Always caught in a composed mood, the Johnny Gaddar actor says that his mantra for retaining his sanity despite the erratic schedules and pressures of the industry, is his confidence, appetite for knowledge and a practical approach towards life and work. Neil, who is busy promoting his upcoming film Players with co-stars Bobby Deol, Sikandar Kher, Bipasha Basu and Sonam Kapoor, asserts that he is unfazed by the cutthroat competition in the film industry.
“I don’t fear being over shadowed by my co-stars. Players has an ensemble star cast, but that doesn’t stop me from believing that I’m the best,” says a not-so-modest Neil. In this day and age, when actors believe in flaunting their toned bodies and working towards eight pack abs, does Neil feel the need to work extra hard to stay in shape? “I don’t believe in setting unrealistic targets for myself. I’m very happy with the way I look,” he shared.
Like all Bollywood actors, Neil hasn’t been spared from his share of speculation either. The actor, who has been in the news for his alleged relationship with Asin, has neither confirmed nor denied his status quo with the actress. He says, “Yes, I am very close to Asin, but there is nothing more to that. At least for now, that’s the only equation we share.”
Neil has had more than his share of link-ups in B’town. Before Asin, the grapevine was abuzz with rumours about him having a soft corner for Deepika but the star is quick to deny it as nothing more than attraction. He said, “Attraction is a normal feeling. “I can get attracted to just about anyone. And Deepika is undoubtedly a very attractive girl.”
