The Delhi high court has issued contempt of court notice to Vodafone after being approached by Matrix Cellular, which has accused the mobile phone company of not reinstating a disputed service to it despite that being the court’s direction.
Justice Vipin Sang-hi issued notice to five executives of Vodafone seeking their response to the petition which claims that the company has failed to comply with the court’s order passed in October which had put in place an interim agreement, restoring for two months a service of Matrix now being provided by Vodafone.
Senior advocates Mukul Rohatgi and Sandeep Sethi, appearing for Matrix, told the court that though the customers had been dealing only with Matrix for the past 12 years, all communication between them was snapped by the action of Vodafone without any intimation.
They contended that calls made by subscribers were getting diverted to and being answered by Vodafone.
