Taking note of the Centre’s plea that the Supreme Court order banning use of SPOs was adversely affecting anti-militancy and anti-insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir and the Northeast, the court said Friday it was limited to Chhattisgarh.
Justices Altamas Kabir and S.S. Nijjar modified the July 5 order, saying the ban on SPOs would not apply beyond Chhattisgarh.
