Those who sent me to jail will pay a price, says Yeddyurappa

Former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, who returned home after spending 25 days in prison on Tuesday, kept everyone guessing about his future plans but warned that those responsible for sending him to jail would pay a heavy price in near future.

Deccan Chronicle reported on Monday that an 'angry' Yeddyurappa, after being attacked by L.K Advani during the former's yatra, is being pacified by the BJP with a CM role, again. (Read: BJP offering Yeddy CMship again? [2])

Though he dismissed speculation about floating a regional outfit, Mr. Yeddyurappa told reporters outside the central prison at Parappana Agrahara that he would spell out his future course of action after visiting Siddaganga Math in Tumkur and Yediyuru Siddalingeshwar Math on Wednesday.

"I will not comment against any individual or any party at this moment. I have faith in the judiciary and in our democratic set up. Truth will prevail in future. The court had sent me to jail. I honoured the court order. The same court has granted bail today. I know that thousands offered pooja for my release. They prayed for me without celebrating Diwali. I am grateful to them", Mr. Yeddyurappa added.

Speaking to media persons at his Race Course road residence, Mr. Yeddyurappa said if people have faith in him, he would become the Chief Minister again. "I will work for people. I know that power is not permanent, but faith and affection of people are permanent. During the last 24 days in prison, I came to know that people have reposed faith in me," he added.

Justice B.V. Pinto of the Bengaluru high court granted bail on condition that Yeddyurappa furnish a bond for Rs.500,000, two sureties for the same amount each, refrain from tampering with evidence and participate in trial court proceedings against him in the two cases.

The arrested Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was housed in Bengaluru's central prison in the eastern suburb of Parappana Agrahara.

Yeddyurappa spent only a few hours in jail on October 15. He was shifted to a hospital after he complained of chest pain. He spent three days in two hospitals and went back to jail on October 19 after media and opposition parties slammed what was seen as an attempt to avoid jail stay.

He is facing three more corruption and illegal land deals cases and has sought anticipatory bail in them.
