For the better part of the last two years, Shah Rukh Khan has lived and breathed Ra.One. And even though it has largely failed to live up to expectations, SRK is rather unperturbed.
“I’m aware of the mixed reactions,” he admits readily. “Some have liked it while some others haven’t. People are entitled to their own opinions though, and I’m happy that the film hasn’t gone unnoticed.”
But the below-par reaction to Ra.One also means that SRK has fallen behind his rival Khans — Aamir and Salman, both of who’ve tasted blockbuster success with their last films. SRK feels these comparisons are also uncalled for. “I’ve been in the industry for 20 years, and I’ve done many films in this period. It’s unfair to gauge my standing in the industry on the basis of one film. I don’t know why people are comparing Ra.One to other actors’ films,” he says with a laugh.
Continuing on the same pragmatic path, Shah Rukh says he’s already started looking forward to his next major release: Don 2. “I’ve just wound up one film, and I know that Don 2 would be innovative in its own way,” he says.
