Hyderabad , April 4: Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik finally broke his silence on Sunday afternoon and said that his earlier marriage to Ayesha Siddiqui was “illegal”. He also said that after marriage, Sania Mirza would continue to play tennis for India.
Speaking to reporters outside Sania’s residence, Malik made it clear that his marriage with Sania would be held on April 15 in Hyderabad as scheduled. He also distributed a press statement which claimed that the nikahnama with Ayesha was illegal as it was done over the telephone and that he had been pressured into doing it.
In the two-page statement, Malik said he wanted to clarify “wrongly reported facts” in newspapers and television channels both in India and Pakistan. “I want to make my position clear especially because I am to marry Sania,” he said.
He admitted to the nikahnama in his statement, but said it was invalid since the intention was to cheat him. He said he had never met the girl whose photographs the Siddiqui family had sent to him claiming to be Ayesha’s.

2nd Moscow bomber was 28-yr teacher
Moscow, April 4: A 28-year-old computer science teacher has been identified by her family as the second of two female suicide bombers who killed dozens of people on the Moscow metro a week ago, a newspaper reported on Sunday.
Rasul Magomedov recognised his missing daughter Maryam after being shown photos of the remains of the unidentified suicide bomber, a website said. Over 50 people were killed in suicide attacks in Russia last week. —Reuters
