A vehicle carrying explosive material detonated in southwest China on Tuesday, killing four people, injuring about 100 others and causing several nearby buildings to collapse, local authorities said.
The explosion took place around midday (0400 GMT) on a road in Fuquan city in Guizhou province, the government said on its website.
Police, firefighters and ambulances have been dispatched to the scene. The cause of the blast is under investigation.
A spokeswoman for the Fuquan city government declined to comment when contacted by the media. Other details were not immediately available.
