Actor Anupam Kher has just bagged a role with Hollywood actor Robert de Niro in the film The Silver Linings Playbook, but the actor can’t help but talk about his famous co-star. Calling it a dream come true, Anupam says that he never thought that he would work with the Hollywood superstar.
In a recent interview, the actor said, “I’m excited to work with a person who I have really admired and I’ve learnt a lot by watching his films. I’ve grown up on his films as a student of drama. He is one of the finest actors in the world, and I never thought that it could happen because we work in two different continents. So I’m thankful that I got an opportunity to work with him.” The film, directed by David O’Russell of The Fighter fame, will be shot in Philadelphia and is based on author John Matthew Quick’s book of the same name.
Although the actor refrained from divulging any details about his role, he spoke about the audition process. “I auditioned for the film, and 12 days ago I was offered the role. It’s a fantastic opportunity for me to be part of a film which is directed by one of the finest directors of the present time,” Anupam said. The film also stars Bradley Cooper, Jeniffer Lawrence, Chris Tucker and Julia Styles among others.
