F1: Michael Schumacher aims to shrug off Korean GP setback

Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher will be looking to put his Korean GP disappointment behind when he rolls his Mercedes out of the Buddh International Circuit garage next weekend.

The German legend was forced retire from the race last week after Renault’s Vitaly Petrova rammed into him.

“The outcome of the last race in Korea was unlucky for us, therefore I am extra-motivated to score some points next weekend and reward the good work of the team,” said Schumacher in a statement.

The winner of 91 Grands Prix has been looking forward to his maiden trip to India. “A lot of people tell me that India’s fascinating.

“So, I’m eager to experiencing this new culture and seeing the track for the first time. I am sure we will be impressed with what has been done there,” said Schumacher.

“There has been a lot of interest in the build-up to the event, and therefore hopefully we will entertain a lot of new fans in India. I’ve always been happy to welcome new tracks on the calendar and enjoy the challenge of adapting to them,” added the 42-year-old.
