It was a slightly troublesome day for Congress MP Rahul Gandhi who was on a one-day visit to his constituency Amethi on Thursday. Mr Gandhi’s convoy was forcibly stopped by a group of people who were demanding that only candidates
with a clean track record be given tickets for the upcoming UP Assembly elections. Then a man carrying a revolver was arrested while trying to enter the ground where Mr Gandhi was to address a meeting. The man, later identified as Pradeep Kumar Soni, claimed that he wanted to give an application to the Congress MP in connection with the murder of his father and brother.
