A two-and-half-year old girl was abducted, raped and abandoned beside a railway track in Kalyanpur area here by an unknown person, the police said.
Meena Devi, the mother of the victim, was waiting for a train at Rawatpur railway station when a stranger took the girl from her and then disappeared.
She lodged an FIR of kidnapping at Farrokhabad police station, the police said. The girl was found this morning lying in a serious condition near a railway track in Kalyanpur area, said Shailendra Lal, Circle Officer, Kalyanpur police station.
The police rushed her to Dufrin hospital where doctors confirmed rape, after which a case of rape was registered.
The condition of the girl remains serious and she will undergo an operation. The police said they are investigating the matter and trying to nab the rapist.
