Tigiev stripped of Olympic bronze for dope cheating
Uzbeki freestyle wrestler Soslan Tigiev has been stripped of his 2012 Olympics bronze medal after testing positive for a banned substance, local media reported Wednesday.
Report of the Russian gazeta.ru informational site said that the samples given by Tigiev contained the banned drug methylexanamine.
The 29-year-old Tigiev, who was born in the Russia's republic of Osetia, represented Uzbekistan at the Olympics in the 74kg category.
The Olympic bronze medal will now go to Hungarian wrestler Gabor Hatosz, whom Tigiev beat in the bout for the third place.
