Terry quizzed by police
England captain John Terry was reportedly interrogated by police under caution over claims that he made a racist remark aimed at footballer Anton Ferdinand during Chelsea’s game against Queens Park Rangers.
“A 30-year-old was interviewed under caution on Friday, November 25. He was not arrested. The investigation is ongoing,” The Telegraph quoted a Metropolitan Police spokesperson, as saying. Terry denied the allegations against him in a statement given to the Football Association. “I’ll do whatever it takes to clear my name. I don’t have anything to hide,” he said. Footage of the incident showed that a spat between Terry and Ferdinand took place on October 23. Several footballers defended Terry, and many of them debated the issue of racism in football.
