On-song Akshath stars in Green’s easy victory

It was Akshath Reddy’s blistering 97 that helped Green score an eight-wicket win over Yellow during the HCA Zonal cricket match played in Hyderabad.

Batting first, Yellow were shot for 248 and in reply, Green rode on Akshath’s top knock to score 249 for 2. The other main contributors were Akash Bhandari (59) and B. Sandeep (54 n.o.).

In a low-scoring clash, Blue edged out Red by five runs. Batting first, Blue could only manage a modest 136 with P.B.S.S. Bharath wreaking havoc with his figures of 4 for 22. For the batting side, Ravi Teja top-scored with 27. In reply, Red were restricted to 131 for 8 despite a valiant 61 by Anirudh Singh. For the winners, Ashwin Yadav (2 for 9) and Mehdi Hassan (2 for 20) were the leading wicket-takers.
