Shyjumon in final preparatory camp
Former Chirag United Kerala midfielder Shyjumon is included in the 33-member squad for the India under-22 Asian Cup preparatory camp.
The 21-year-old Thiruvananthapuram boy is the only Malayali in the squad that will be pruned down to 23 members after the camp.
Australian Arthur Papas who recently took charge as Head Coach of the under-23 side shortlisted the players after a series of medical tests in Bangalore.
India is clubbed in Group A of the U-22 Qualifiers along with hosts Oman, Iraq, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates and Turkmenistan. India play their first match against Lebanon on June 23.
The other fixtures are – versus Lebanon (June 23), Iraq (June 25), United Arab Emirates (June 28), Turkmenistan (June 30) and Oman (July 3).
