Rupesh Shah in World billiards final
Rupesh Shah of India overcame Peter Gilchrist (Singapore) 5-2 to enter the final of the 150-up format World Billiards Championship, here Saturday.
In the final, Shah, the 39-year old from Ahmedabad, will take on Mathew Bolton of Australia who eliminated David Causier 5-3.
Shah was off the blocks quickly as he notched breaks of 133 and 148 for a 2-0 lead before the 44-year old Gilchrist took the third on a run of 82 while the India made a 78.
Shah cracked a 145 in the fourth for a 3-1 lead, but Gilchrist surged back with breaks of 86 and 59 in the fifth only to see the Indian race away with the next two frames aided by 64 and 64 in the sixth and 128 in the seventh.
