Malhotra to team up with Jeev
Lokesh Malhotra displayed good golfing skills to become the first amateur to book his berth in the Shubhkamna Noida team, and also a chance to play alongside Jeev Milka Singh in the Louis Philippe Cup.
Scheduled to commence on February 11, 2013 at the Jaypee Greens Golf resort, the IPL-style event, with a prize purse of `1.24 crore and city-based teams, this golf event is now in its second edition.
The qualifiers held at the Noida Golf Course this weekend were the first of the 20 qualifying rounds to be held in the nine participating cities across India — Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Chandigarh and Greater Noida.
Braving the chilly weather, over 140 enthusiastic amateurs teed-off for a chance to be Jeev’s team-mate and play alongside India’s top pro golfers on the first two days of the Louis Philippe Cup, for the pro-am title.
Malhotra triumphed with a final score of 69 nett points, while Anuj Mattoo managed a second-place finish with 76 nett points in 0-15 handicap category.
D.S. Sant topped the 16-24 handicap category with a score of 65 nett points ahead of Arvind Sharma (67).
