Jorhat boy back after stellar show
Mirdu Paswan was accorded a warm welcome in his home town of Jorhat in Assam after winning a silver medal at the Indo-Sri Lanka Karate Championship 2012 held in Colombo recently.
His second-place finish landed him with a cash prize of `1 lakh and a citation in the senior male black belt kumite event organised by the World Sunakoshi Sutukan Karate Organisation, Sri Lanka.
Mridu along with another participant from Assam, Manas Kumar Nath, were the only representatives from India. Various organisations, including the Upper Assam Chamber of Commerce felicitated Paswan on his return.
