Genpact hoopsters claim DC Trophy

Genpact secured an easy 71-50 win over Wells Fargo to claim the Deccan Chronicle corporate basketball title at the Indus World School here on Sunday. Genpact looked in control of the proceedings right from the start of the match. They were leading 22-18 at the end of the first quarter. However, Wells Fargo tried their best to reduce the deficit. At half-time, the scoreline read 39-37 in favour of Genpact.

The third quarter saw Genpact take a 50-44 lead, and from there they never looked back. For the winners, Dennis Sehgal (25 points), Shaikh (17) and Theoson (10) led the charge, while Vasu (11), Durga (12) and Ved (10) shone for Wells Fargo. Dennis Sehgal of Genpact was adjudged the most valuable player of the tournament for his role in their title triumph. Results: Genpact 71 (Dennis Sehgal 25, Shaikh 17, Theoson 10) bt Wells Fargo 50 (Vasu 11, Durga 12, Ved 10).
