Alonso eyes top spot in Singapore
London, Sept. 18: Fernando Alonso started his Ferrari career with a stunning maiden victory in his opening race in Bahrain in March and he hopes to complete his debut season with another win and the drivers’ world title in November.
That is for the final race of the year at Abu Dhabi — the fifth of five ‘flyaway’ races outside Europe in the next two months during which one of the sport’s closest and most dramatic title tussles will be decided.
“Despite failing to score in Belgium, Ferrari and I have scored more points than anyone else in these last four races,” he said. “That makes us more confident and the fact these results came on tracks with very different characteristics to one another confirms that our car is versatile.”
