Zeta-Jones in hospital for depression
Oscar-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones has been admitted to a psychiatric hospital to be treated for bipolar disorder.
The 41-year-old actress was admitted on April 6 to the Silver Hill hospital in Connecticut, where she shared a ward with alcoholics and drug addicts, reported Daily Mail online.
She stayed for five days at the $1000-a-day detox centre and was treated for bipolar disorder and depression, which was triggered by her husband Michael Douglas’ battle with cancer in 2010.
“After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check into a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her bipolar II disorder,” confirmed her publicist. —PTI
