Women more promiscuous than men?

A new study has suggested that when it comes to being sexually unfaithful while being away from home, women tend to rack up more lovers than men. The UK Adultery Survey 2012 found that once women decide to play away, they are far more likely to play the field in search of love. Research into the behaviour of 4,000 people suggested that women are more promiscuous, having an average of 2.3 secret lovers compared to a mere 1.8 for men, the Daily Mail reported.
While explaining their reasons to cheat, the men say the pursuit of sexual excitement, boredom with their marriages and the need of an ego boost are the main causes. Women say their reasons could be anything from looking for emotional fulfilment, an impro-vement to their self esteem to romance.

Researchers develop faster memory chip
London: Scientists claim to have invented a new way to make a fundamentally different computer memory chip that would be much faster and of higher capacity. The device, named “memristor”, has electronic properties that make it suitable for both for computing and for faster, denser memory, the resea-rchers said and claimed that the chip can be made much more cheaply, using current semiconductor techniques.
The name is a portmanteau of memory and resistor, because its resistance changes depending on how much current has passed through it; it “remembers” that value even after power is turned off, the researchers said. “We’re reaching the limits of what we can do with flash memory in terms of increasing the storage density, and it’s also relatively high power and not as fast as we would like,” lead researcher Anthony Keny-on of University College was quoted by the BBC News as saying. — PTI

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
