Swift to be inducted into Hall of Fame
She may be young but country star Taylor Swift is all set to be inducted in the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The 20-year-old singer will receive the Hal David Starlight Award at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards on June 17 here, Access Hollywood reported. Swift, known for penning songs about her puppy love lapses, released her debut single Tim McGraw in 2006 and her self-titled debut album, which was subsequently certified multi-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. In November 2008, she released her second album, Fearless, which topped the Billboard charts for 11 non-consecutive weeks. Other singers to be inducted at the ceremony include British singer Phil Collins and music producer Phil Ramone.

Stressed? call mom for comfort
Paris: Getting a call from mom can be nearly as effective as a maternal hug for calming down after a tough event, according to a probe into the chemistry of human relationships.
Researchers measured levels of a stress hormone, cortisol, and also a comforter hormone, oxytocin, among 61 young girls who had to make a presentation in public.
The volunteers, aged seven to 12, were asked to do public speaking and then carry out an oral arithmetic test in front of an audience, according to the experiment, reported on Wednesday by the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B.
Immediately afterward the event, 1/3rd of the girls were physically comforted by their mother; another 1/3rd received a phone call from mom but did not see or touch her; and the remaining ones received no support but watched a neutral film for 75 minutes.
