Susmit leaves Indian Ocean after 23 years
Susmit Sen, the co-founder and guitarist of India’s most successful rock band, Indian Ocean, has decided to quit after 23 long years. Susmit, who along with Asheem Chakravarty had founded the iconic band in 1990, will hand over his legacy to a younger guitar player. “Right now, I am at my creative best. Indian Ocean is a sound and style we created. After more than 27 years of playing I feel that I am brimming with more compositions, more music — but in a grammar and style that is different from Indian Ocean,” Susmit said in a statement.
“So I feel restricted now as I am sure must be the case with the others as well. I strongly believe that my moving on will be beneficial for both Indian Ocean and my creative expression as well,” he said.

Surgical glue stops infant’s brain bleed
Washington: In an unorthodox mode of treatment, doctors have used surgical superglue to save the life of a 20-day-old baby girl in Kansas by stopping the bleeding in her brain.
Ashlyn Julian was born healthy on May 16 but her parents soon realised something was wrong with her.
“She was probably around 10 days old, and she was sleeping a lot, and I understand that babies sleep a lot, but to the point that you couldn’t wake her up to feed her,” said Ashlyn’s mother, Gina Julian.
In a few days, Ashlyn went from being a quiet baby to one who was screaming and throwing up, Gina said. Ashlyn’s parents rushed her to the emergency room at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City twice, where doctors noticed her fontanel (the soft spot on a newborn’s head) was raised and conducted an ultrasound, CNN reported.
