Simon calls cops over fix claim
Pop mogul Simon Cowell has called in the police over Internet allegations that his firm groomed a contestant on Britain’s Got Talent and that the popular TV show is therefore fixed, the police said on Friday.
Cowell’s lawyers made the complaint to officers after an anonymous blogger alleged that Ronan Parke, the 12-year-old favourite to win Saturday’s final, had been secretly advised by his company for two years.
The blogger claimed Parke already has a management deal with Cowell’s company Syco and had received guidance on his hairstyle, clothing and mannerisms.
The London police have yet to decide if they will take action over the complaint.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “An allegation of malicious communications was made to Kensington and Chelsea police on Thursday June 2. “The allegation is being considered.”
The schoolboy, who bears a passing resemblance to teenage heartthrob singer Justin Bieber, won the viewers’ vote on Monday, putting him straight through to the Saturday final.

Costliest kebab in the world on sale for £750
London: A chef in Britain has created the world’s most expensive kebab — aptly titled King of Kebabs — and costs a whopping £750, a media report said. The dish has moved on from being a humble doner to include saffron-infused flat bread, milk-fed lamb from the Pyrenees and even edible gold, the Sun reported on Thursday.
The kebab uses gold leaf for a finishing flourish and champagne-infused mint and cucumber yoghurt completes the luxury, it said.
Chef Andy Bates created the kebab to mark the launch of The Great Food Truck Race TV show, celebrating street food.
Andy said: “It took a fair bit of time to source the best possible ingredients to ensure that this kebab was the most exclusive one out there but I loved every minute.”
