Rare Charlie Chaplin film found
A rare Charlie Chaplin film footage, said to be worth a £100,000, has been found in a second-hand shop.
Brian Hann, 40, spent just a few pounds on a small box, inside which he found a Chaplin 35mm nitrate film from 1916.
The seven-minute footage is part of a First World War propaganda film called Zepped, starring Chaplin and shows scenes of a Zeppelin bombing raid over London, reported Daily Express. Last week, what was believed to be the only copy went on sale at Bonhams auction house in London, with a £100,000 price. “There’s Chaplin reading a newspaper while leaning against a tree and there’s a wartime message about saving food,” said Hann.
Bonhams said, “We’ll be happy to put Hann in contact with one of our experts to authenticate it.” —PTI
