Queen invites Kate’s parents to Balmoral
The British Queen is said to have invited the parents-in-law of Prince William to visit her Scottish retreat — the Balmoral estate.
Michael and Carole Middleton, the parents of William’s 29-year-old wife Kate Middleton, have been invited by the UK’s Monarch to visit her Balmoral estate later in 2011, British newspaper the Daily Telegraph reported.
“The Queen has got on well with the Middletons and is keen to help ensure that they feel welcome at royal events. She would be pleased if they could join her at Balmoral for a weekend,” a Royal courtier was quoted as saying.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman, however, said: “We don’t confirm guests at Balmoral. That is completely private.”
Last week, the Middletons were given the honour of arriving on Ladies’ Day at Royal Ascot in the Queen’s carriage procession. They travelled in one of only three landaus that followed the Queen’s carriage after attending a luncheon at Windsor Castle with a gathering of the Monarch’s friends.

Di brother marries for third time
London: Princess Diana’s younger brother Charles Spencer has reportedly got married for the third time.
The Earl, 47, tied the knot with 38-year-old Canadian philanthropist and former model, Karen Gordon, at Althorp, the Spencer family seat in Northamptonshire on Saturday, the Daily Telegraph reported.
The couple got married in a private civil ceremony followed by a blessing, attended by family and close friends, within the grounds of Althorp where Princess Diana is buried.
Earl Spencer had announced his engagement to Gordon in February.
Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton did not attend the wedding due to his work commitments at the Royal Air Force station in Anglesey. —PTI
