Queen guitarist Brian top star of BBC Proms

BRITAIN’S TRADITIONAL century-old concert season of Proms, which in 2009 showcased a singing and dancing Bollywood extravaganza for the first time, does not have any Bollywood or Indian classical concerts in 2010.
Legendary Queen guitarist Brian May, opera singer Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Spanish tenor José Carreras, Mexican tenor Placido Domingo and West End and Broadway star Kerry Ellis are headlining the concerts for Proms this season. The Proms will start on July 16 and close with a Hyde Park concert, the annual Last Night Of The Proms extravaganza, on September 11. In 2010, 76 Proms will held be at the Royal Albert Hall and 13 chamber concerts at Cadogan Hall.
