Paris in Mumbai, wants to work in Bollywood

American socialite, reality TV star and business woman Paris Hilton, who arrived in Mumbai to launch her brand of handbags and accessories on Saturday, expressed her desire to work in Bollywood.

The Hilton heiress, who was seen wearing a pink sari designed by Rocky S, at the launch said that she had been approached by Bollywood in the past and was seriously considering it too.
“I would love to work in Bollywood someday and would definitely take it up if something worthwhile comes my way,” she said.
Paris is on a three-day maiden visit to the country to promote her brand Paris Hilton Handbags and Accessories. “I think that Indian women have an amazing sense of style and will be able to relate very well with my brand. My brand is all about being different, fun and sophisticated at the same time,” she said.
Anubhav Kumar, CEO, Brand Concepts said, “We hope to have 50 exclusive Paris Hilton stores in the country in the next two years. The bags will cost anywhere between `2,500 to 12,000,” he added.
Speaking about the reception she got in Mumbai, she said, “The hospitality of Indian people is very heart-warming. I am really looking forward to take home some wonderful saris, bindis and jewellery back to the US. Who knows, I may start a brad of saris there.”
Paris, who has been named the Billion dollar entrepreneur by Variety magazine said she has worked very hard to achieve what she has. “I’ve been working since the age of 15 to get to where I am. I am also writing a book and recording my own music album apart from looking after my business empire across the globe. I am currently working on opening my chain of boutiques and beach resorts all over the globe,” she said.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
